Gareth Gates

Gareth Gates rose to fame through the inaugural Pop Idol in 2001/02, when he became a household name in the most memorable final, against Will Young.

He has gone on to sell more than five million records worldwide. His version of Unchained Melody sold over a million copies in the UK, and was the third best selling single of the noughties, and he sold out three national arena tours, before going on to tour Europe and South East Asia.

More recently Gareth has had a hugely enjoyable and successful career in Musical Theatre, appearing in Les Miserables, Legally Blonde, Joseph and Footloose, to name but a few.

In 2014, he picked up his skates to appear in Dancing on Ice, before taking a break in 2015 due to a vocal injury. Living life on the road and touring non-stop for 10 years had took its toll, but Gareth didn't stop.

During his time off he invented Cuppanut – an award-winning range of hot coconut drinks. This venture is a huge success and is available nationwide in stores like Holland and Barrett.

Gareth’s return to the stage was Footloose the Musical in, unusually for Gareth, a comedy role. His portrayal of Willard won him as many plaudits as fans.

We are pleased to be representing Gareth as he embarks on another part of his career with a series of exclusive shows for P&O Cruises.
